The bead retreat will start in Menton. Often referred as The Pearl of France, the picturesque little coastal town is definitely one of the most beautiful towns in France. It’s a great place to just wander. There are small winding streets on which you’ll find an array of cafes, restaurants and little gift shops. Many of these sell products based on the local lemons: Menton is famous for these, a result of the warm micro-climate here. Explore Menton’s Old City, with its colorful houses, fabulous staircases, beach stone mosaics, and ceramic murals. You can also visit the seaport, the beach resort, and some pretty gardens.

Annecy 1_edited.jpg

Annecy, named also 'The Venice of the Alps" is located between the mountain and the lake and is one of the most picturesque towns in France. The city is crossed by navigable canals, which is why it earned the nickname 'Venice of the Alps'.  Annecy doesn't have any great significant historic monument, but the big attraction is the old city with its picturesque streets  and  the lake. Colourfully painted houses, arcades, boutiques, cafés and restaurants, the streets and the riverside quays are an enchanting area which are waiting for you to discover them.

Bregenz, also know as "The City by the Lake", is located at the foot of Pfander Mountain, on the shores of lovely Lake Constance, Austria. Since 1946, the Bregenz Festival has been an integral part of the city. Each summer, the finest opera al fresco is being presented on the world-largest lakeside stage on the shores of Lake Constance.

The city is also home to one of the most important ports on Lake Constance and offers trips on the lake by boat or catamaran.

Prague 1_edited.jpg

Prague is one of the most charming and beautiful cities and has become a very popular travel destination in Central Europe. Almost undamaged by the 3rd world war, Prague's medieval center remains a wonderful mixture of cobbled lanes, walled courtyards, cathedrals and countless church spires. Prague is also a modern and vibrant city full of energy, music and art.

Visit to Preciosa Factory.

Salzburg, famous for the old town with its medieval and baroque buildings which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage, is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the most famous musicians in the world! Today, Salzburg is considered a city of art and music, hosting about 4000 cultural events annually. As a curiosity, here we find St. Peter Stiftskeller restaurant who was founded in 803 CE - they have been serving Austrian cuisine for over 1,200 years.

Verona 2_edited.png

Verona is one of the richest cities in northern Italy in Roman remains. The most remarkable of these, the amphitheater (or Arena), is the 3rd  largest surviving Roman amphitheater and is now used for opera. The core of the city consists of the Roman town nestled in the loop of the river containing one of the richest collections of Roman remains in northern Italy. Verona was also a renowned medieval centre of painting. The work of Antonio Pisanello (Pisano) climaxes the courtly fresco work of the 14th and 15th centuries.

Optional trip to Venice.

From Verona we will return to Menton (French Riviera) where the bead retreat will end.

IMPORTANT: To get to Menton, you will need to buy plane tickets for Nice-France (airport code NCE)

This beaded necklace is beautiful as well as easy to make. It combines bead weaving and bead embroidery. You will be able to choose a cabochon from Mikaela’s wonderful collection, and surround it with a unique bezel. Metal filigrees to the top and bottom of it add a vintage appearance, and the tiny flowers and crystals add to the romance. The collar of this necklace is embroidered onto cork fabric and finished off with a beadwoven chain, embellished with crystals and backlit beads. This class will cover lots of interesting techniques and many options for modifying it to make it your own.
